Melissa has studied at Sydney University and internationally in Education, Music, Physics and Bereavement Support. Her hardcover book and music CD When We Remember: Inspiration and Integrity for a Meaningful Funeral was runner up at the London Book Festival in 2007 for Best Non-Fiction Worldwide and has been in print continuously for more than a decade since, helping more than a hundred thousand grieving families.
She is an avid reader and enthusiastic teacher, awarded for Excellence in Music Teaching at national level, and has conducted at the Sydney Opera House and throughout Europe with various wind & jazz bands, choirs and large orchestral groups.
Her life story is that of an ordinary person who has encountered some extraordinary moments.
The journey - over several decades - that led to Kangaroo Quest has been a largely unplanned one.
